Centraal Museum Chair - Gispen

1997

The Centraal Museum chair is a dinning chair designed by Richard Hutten for, as the name already reveals, for the Centraal Museum in Utrecht. The Centraal Museum is housed in a former medieval cloister and that was the inspiration for this chair. Hutten designed their restaurant and specially for this interior he designed this chair. For the civil ceremony of Royal Wedding in 2002 of HRH King Willem Alexander and HRM Queen Maxima in the Beurs van Berlage in Amsterdam, a special version of the Centraal Museum chair was made. The chair was used for 500 special guests from all over the world such as the UK's Prince of Wales, UN Secretary General Kofi Annan and former South African President Nelson Mandela, kings of Sweden, Norway and Belgium and the queen of Denmark.
